Meet Kelly Robertson

Kelly is the program director and Lead teacher of our STEM program.  Kelly is responsible for STEM program development which was her past role as Executive Director of the South Norwalk Community Center. Kelly successfully launched the STEM program to 60 children last summer at the South Norwalk Community Center with amazing success. She has a Master’s in Education specializing in child development.

Meet Evan Byron

Evan is a science teacher at Norwalk High School whose Masters is in Biochemistry.  He presently teaches 9th grade physical science and has taught at several summer programs in the past most notably at the Carver center.  Evan will be leading our 6 week STEM Summer camp this year at the South Norwalk Community Center.

Meet Susan "Susie" Flaherty

Susie is a Special Ed and History Teacher at Darien High School.  Susie is the Cubmaster of Pack 155 in Darien and is the Assistant Camp Coordinator for our STEM program.  Susie is a long time Scouter who has received the highest level of training which is known as Wood Badge Training.  She lives in Darien and is an enthusiastic engaging teacher who knows how to make Science fun.

In addition to the below certified teachers, depending upon the number of students we will have two trained assistant counselors. The goal is to maintain a 10.1 instructor to student ratio. We have two assistants available, Ms. Martha Harris who is a 2nd year engineering student at Amherst College and Justus Houston who going into his senior year at Wentworth College majoring in computer engineering.

Furthermore, please note that we will have an older teen mentor for each child group broken down by grade level. The mentor will be an older high school Boy scout who will help make sure that each child has hands on experience with the experiments.
